Job Outlook:

Ultrasound Technician jobs are expected to grow by 19% through 2016, according to the US Bureau of Labor Statistics. This is a job growth rate that is much faster than the national average. Ultrasound Certification

Becoming certified through the ARDMS (American Registry of Diagnostic Medical Sonographers) is highly recommended. Although not all states require that you are certified through the ARDMS, doing so will make you a much more competitive job candidate. Becoming certified means that you have a level of skill and knowledge in the field of sonography that meets a nationally recognized standard.
