Becoming certified through the ARDMS (American Registry of Diagnostic Medical Sonographers) is highly recommended. Although not all states require that you are certified through the ARDMS, doing so will make you a much more competitive job candidate. Becoming certified means that you have a level of skill and knowledge in the field of sonography that meets a nationally recognized standard.
