Ultrasound Technician Schools

Looking for ultrasound technician schools? Ultrasound technology has become a major player in the medical imaging community over the past twenty years and the technology continues to evolve and grow.

Ultrasounds are commonly associated with images of a pregnant women viewing the growing fetus inside the body; however, pregnancy sonography, known as obstetric ultrasonography only scratches the surface of what the technology is used for and capable of.

A common specialization that sonography students pursue is cardiovascular technology, which focuses on the application of the technology to performing images and procedures on blood vessels, the heart, and the vascular system.

Finding The Right Ultrasound Tech School

If you are thinking of becoming a diagnostic medical sonographer, you will need to attend ultrasound technician schools that will prepare you for certification. Most ultrasound schools offer two year associates degrees in sonography, which will prepare you to take the ARDMS (American Registry of Diagnostic Medical Sonographers) exam.

The exam is not mandatory for all states; however, it is recommended that you take this additional step at the completion of your ultrasound schools program and get certified. We have put together a list of ultrasound technician schools to choose from.
